Odin is a widely revered God in the mythology of Northern Europe. He is associated with, among other things, wisdom, knowledge, war, and divination (forecasting). He is often accompanied by the ravens Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory), who bring him information from all over the world. Odin is emblematic of the attainment of knowledge through personal sacrifice. Most notably he is one-eyed due to sacrificing an eye in exchange for a drink from the Well of Fate, which granted him knowledge of the universe.
