The war with Ukraine has never seemed to have made Putin more vulnerable politically, and thus he must have a strong grip on power. I am making this prediction only a few months from the deadline, and I don't anticipate any global events happening that would change the political situation for Putin between now and then. In particular, the war seems like it will be at a stalemate for a long time.
