China's direct investment liabilities dropped $15 billion this year (Jan - Jun), with close to 15% of U.S. based companies pulling out. Although companies like Aptar recently invested $30 million in a new factory, and many U.S. companies are doing well there, it still remains a political environment where companies are being accused of espionage and have been raided. This raises the question whether Microsoft, whose annual revenue accounts for close to 1% from China is going to pull out, in addition to companies like IBM, who recently shut down its China R&D facility.
