Question will be resolved using "Granted AI Patents" data reported in Stanford's AI Index Report. Data from 2010 to 2021 for the "European Union and United Kingdom" are available in Figure 1.1.24b on page 39 of the 2022 report.


Question will be closed for forecasting on 31 December 2022 and resolved when the 2023 report is released. For more information about the AI Index Report's methodology, see the Appendix of the 2022 report (pages 198-199).
